Biography

Abigail Bush, a native of Los Angeles, discovered her passion for singing at the age of 11. After graduating from The Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, where she was part of the Full Circle Opera Project for four years, she pursued her Bachelor’s of Music degree at Northern Arizona University, which she earned in 2019.

Following her undergraduate studies, Abigail moved to the Bay Area to attend The San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she completed her Master of Music in 2022 under the guidance of Rhoslyn Jones. She is currently studying with Dr. Julia Nielsen.

Since completing her master’s degree, Abigail has made numerous company debuts around the bay area. Praised for her “great range and polished technique” (San Francisco Classical Voice) recent engagements include Papagena in Mozart’s The Magic Flute and Countess Ceprano in Verdi’s Rigoletto with Opera San Jose. Other performances include Pauline and Diana in two of Offenbach’s operas La vie Parisienne and Orpheus in the Underworld, and Anne Page in Otto Nicolai’s The Merry Wives of Windsor with Pocket Opera, where she displayed her vocal prowess. She also enjoyed covering the role of the Stepmother and performing chorus solos in Opera San Jose’s production of Alma Deutscher’s Cinderella, conducted by the composer herself. Additionally, Abigail captivated audiences as Miss Silverpeal in Mozart’s The Impresario.

Abigail’s repertoire extends to other beloved roles such as Clara Johnson in Adam Guettel’s Light in the Piazza, and Edith in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance.
